Who We Are...
Strategically located in the Indian Ocean, with a written history of over 2500 years, we are a nation with a proud history & heritage & we are the daughters of Vihara Maha Devi.
Our beautiful island nation is facing tremendous challenges & threats economically, socially, politically, culturally & civilization ally. To overcome these obstacles as a nation & as citizens we must adapt to suit the times. As mothers of children & as mothers of the Nation, and representing 52% of Sri Lanka’s women population & 33% of the workforce contributing to the national economy we believe we command a bigger role in deciding how Sri Lanka should progress.
As Mothers, we strongly believe that powerful social transformations is essential. The Mothers’ Movement also believe that the time has arrived to empower women for greater roles. Thus, across all spheres of society from political, economic, education, reforms, food culture to building a righteous & moral society our presence as women is essential.
We are ready to equip the women of Sri Lanka for this important role via our Mothers Movement.
